Tilbrook Estate

Tilbrook Estate lies in the heart of the Adelaide Hills. It is close to lush rolling hills, pristine lakes and fertile vineyards. Living here, you get to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside, while remaining within easy travelling distance to bustling Adelaide.

In a world where we are constantly bombarded with advertisements and messages promising a better life, it’s refreshing to find a place where you can be at peace and disconnect from the outside world. Tilbrook Estate in the Adelaide Hills, South Africa, is a small, luxury lodge in the picturesque foothills of the Adelaide Hills, only 45 minutes outside of Adelaide. Set on 31 acres, the lodge offers guests an opportunity to unplug, unwind, relax, and detox. Its beautiful, private setting is ideal for solitude and reflection, or for social gatherings. The lodge’s location means that it is the perfect destination for both city slickers and those looking for a more laidback, rural experience. The vineyard is one of the oldest in the Margaret River wine region and is one of a handful of wineries that produced wine for the first time in the region in 1971. Tilbrook Estate Vineyards & Winery is a family-owned and operated vineyard and winery in the beautiful Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The winery was established in 2008. We produce award-winning wines from grapes grown on the Estate. Our focus is on producing premium, elegant wines from grapes grown in our vineyards only, to our exacting standards. We are a boutique winery with a small production of handcrafted wines.

Vineyard and winery of Tilbrook Estate is a winery situated in the picturesque village of Tilbrook, on the Mornington Peninsula, just 35 minutes from the heart of Melbourne. “Tilbrook Estate is a family-owned winery, originally established by the Dodsworth family in 1912,” said owner Sue Boon. “The vineyard has been in the Dodsworth family for over 100 years and we are now working to create a celebration of the history and tradition of the vineyard.”

At this stage we are a small family run winery and tasting room that is open for you to come and sample our wines, chat about the vineyards and enjoy the beautiful view of our vines and the surrounding hills. We are planning to 2019 is the seventh consecutive year that 7 red varieties have been released from the Tilbrook Estate in the Adelaide Hills. These 7 varieties are all from the red grape variety Grenache, but each has its own unique character. Some are from different clones and some are from different bush blocks. Each variety has been barrel sampled and tested by the owners and winemaker, Robyn and Rod Smith.

An Australian wine grape variety. A sibling of Marquette and Mataro, it is a permitted variety in the regions of Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley. The grape was developed by Dr. R.A. (Dick) Buschle of the CSIRO in 1972. Wines produced in the Tilbrook Estate are made of grapes grown in the Adelaide Hills. The estate is owned by the Paul Cluver winery company and its vineyards are operated by Tilbrook Wines. The company is named after the local Adelaide Hills stream, a tributary of the Onkaparinga River, which passes through the property. In 1837, the land was settled by the Schulz family, who planted vineyards and began making wine from the estate. In 1842, the property was purchased by the Hermann brothers and then sold to the von Doussa family in 1876.
